Learn to Skate

Yes! Our Learn to Skate program is designed for all ages! Everyone has to start somewhere and the skills taught during our sessions are designed for all ages.

Our introductory Learn to Skate classes are $25 per participant for any age.

Not currently. We are looking to add a package or deal or monthly subscription for your convenience soon.

Yes. Rental skates are included in the cost for any Learn to Skate or Learn to Play program.

The best advice we can give you is to just get out onto the ice for a session! We have the coaches and the skates covered. We recommend having head protection but is not required. The only thing that is required is to have a Waiver filled for each participant which can be filled out here: https://labhockey.com/register/

Other than that, the only thing you need to bring is a fun disposition!

Learn to Play

All Ages. We’re giving the most basic hockey lesions designed for participants of all ages.

Although not required, it is very highly recommended to have a full set of gear with a full face cage. You are participating at your own risk and you should take all the necessary precautions to ensure that you are safe on the ice.

We recommend trying a Learn to Skate session if you have never skated before. But if you’re eager enough, don’t be afraid to jump right into a Learn to Play session! We recommend that anyone looking to learn to purchase a used full set of gear through sporting goods stores. It’s highly recommended that you buy used equipment for children especially since sizes can change year-to-year.

Open Stick & Puck

No. Public Open Stick & Puck sessions have no restrictions on ages.

No. We ask that you bring your own pucks to use on the ice.

No. The Hockey Lab does not rent out or provide equipment other than rental skates and to provide goals/nets for use.

There are no minimum equipment requirements when participating. You are participating at your own risk and should take all precautions necessary. It’s worth noting that you are participating in a session of all ages and skill levels.

Open Hockey

No. The Hockey Lab is happy to provide pucks for open hockey sessions.

Everyone participating is playing at their own risk. Full gear is not required to play. We highly recommend wearing full gear due to nature and size of the rink.

Aside from age, no. Open Hockey sessions are separated into age groups. These pick-up sessions are for all players of all skill levels just for fun!

Absolutely! We welcome all goalies to participate. All goalies skate for free in Open Hockey Sessions.
